About tattoo.tips
tattoo.tips exists for the 2am moment: your tattoo is peeling, or itching, or doing something you didn't expect, and you want a calm, specific answer — not a sales pitch and not a panic.
The guides here are written by tattoo collectors and built on artist-sourced conventions — the aftercare working artists actually give their clients — cross-checked against dermatology sources like the American Academy of Dermatology and the Cleveland Clinic, which we cite on the page.
Our rules
- We are not doctors, and we never pretend to be. Healing-problem pages carry no products at all, describe what's typical rather than diagnosing, and always draw a clear see-a-professional line.
- Money never touches symptom pages. Product recommendations appear only on aftercare and product pages, in clearly labeled blocks, with a disclosure. See how we make money.
- Your artist outranks us. Aftercare conventions vary by style, placement, and artist. When our general guidance and your artist's instructions differ, follow your artist.
